THE WOLVES’ BREATH
by
Giannis Aggelakas and Nikos Veliotis

The Wolves’ Breath is an album that came as a result of the unexpected collaboration between Giannis Aggelakas and Nikos Veliotis, two musicians who have made their special mark on the contemporary Greek scene.

Giannis Aggelakas has been the front man of Trypes, by far the most important punk rock band in Greece. Through their 15-year course Trypes came up with albums that are widely considered as the most influential punk rock records in Greece and have defined the spirit of a whole era.

Nikos Veliotis is a musician and video artist active in the international experimental scene, both in Europe and beyond.

On stage, The Wolves’ Breath project comes together in a performance where music and images (with videos by Nikos Veliotis) combine to reflect its true dark-pop nature. In addition to Giannis Aggelakas on vocals and Nikos Veliotis on cello and videos, the band features Fotis Siotas on viola, Sofia Efkleidou on cello, Christos Harbilas on laptop and Titos Kargiotakis on sound. The live set includes material from the album as well as covers (old rebetika songs by Markos Vamvakaris and one song by the great Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis) given a suitably irreverent treatment.
